Technology/CGI employ strongly throughout the entire movie, because anything that had to do with the martians was created by CGI. It was used to give a feel of abstraction science fiction and not just a battle for superior intelligence. Plot Told from a flesh of different viewpoints and the advantages and drawbacks that went along with them. Everything comes together in the end to make it a bittersweet happy outcome for all of those still left alive.
